Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upp your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment give an additional bonus to the item's stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons stronger. You can locate them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment with them, or through an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when they are removed from the item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other functions. They can be used to increase the level of an upgradeable item or they can be used to increase the experience gained by upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to provide extra bonuses. For instance, a crafted glyph will boost the chances of upgrading its target, whereas a boost upgrade will increase the attack or defense quality of a weapon or armor.
Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be updated. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which affects the amount of experience an item gets when it upgrades with the component. For instance, organic components give more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. You should upgrade organic components first until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment then switch to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with an upgrade maximum number that can be received. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon with 10th level. The most commonly used upgrade is a tier 6 gun and a armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects that all share the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which can be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons can't be upgraded to have a higher defense level than their base. Upgrading can be a good method to increase the value of some set and unique items, however it is important to keep in mind that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If the item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will be reset to zero. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an item up, but the new item will have additional bonuses. Upgrades can be made at the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time, and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can reroll any item acquired in the game provided they have enough tokens. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The new item upgraded will still come with the extra bonuses of the original one however its stats will be different as well.

Players can alter the identification of their equipment, in addition to rolling it again by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change its identification from a weapons to armor, or reverse it. The base requirements and stats will remain the same. The change will be permanent and affect all characters who own the equipment.
The player can also upgrade the level of the item for any equipment that is equipped. This is accomplished by talking to an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade components. It will cost a specific amount of crests as well as Valorstones according to the upgrade track and item type. For weapons, each step up will add an additional 5percent to the damage.
The upgrade of an item can make it more powerful, but it will also decrease its quality. It is therefore essential to find a balance between these two. Some items are not worth upgrading, whereas others require upgrades to maximize their potential. A player might want to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modification (% block chance or FHR) to see what else it can become.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it to try to obtain an item or character that they wouldn't otherwise have. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to acquire, and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only options left are to invest real money or grind lots. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when you upgrade an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe it was designed to to increase the value of rare items, but as equipment generally drops quickly and can only be upgraded one level up it is likely that you will replace the item before it becomes too old. It is also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets, as the power of the gem will outweigh any increase in the level of.
When you click the upgrade option on an item, you will get a small screen with the upgrade template for the item and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the level of the item. The cost will differ between weapons and armor as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item. It will also list its current ilvl.
The Crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's lvl reduction percentage. For example the weapon that has an upgrade decrease of 8% will reduce its count by 8-8%.
The item will receive upgrades to other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damages and block, parry, and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These upgrades are also based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template, you can see the amount of damage or defense the item will be able to sustain when it is upgraded. This is listed below the cost as well as the upgrade percentages. All weapons and armor, except practice equipment, gain these stats upon leveling up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can fetch an incredibly higher price than a non-upp’d version. The same applies to other armor pieces such as circlets or Tiaras.
